Memorial day weekend!
Friday night: Marcia and Geoff over for a delicious greek dinner featuring mousaka, greek salad, and lemon potatoes. (M&G gave Charlie the greek cookbook for his birthday).
Saturday: Weeding, planting tomatoes(C&B), walking downtown Falmouth (Elizabeth) and May Festival in Woods Hole (R&J). Rick makes a delicious dinner of pasta, fresh herbs from the garden and Bell and Evans chicken cooked on the grill then sliced.
Sunday: We start early - well, earlyish - with a canoe trip on Little pond. Rick and Jenny test run the new, home-made canoe-carrying, wheely-gizmo. Plans with modifications to follow. Charlie and Brenda record the event as well as some baby gozlings and their geesey parents.
Monday: Charlie and Brenda start the day with lawn topsoil reallignment. Elizabeth and her clarinet march in the parade. We watch. Will, the professional, comes to re-reallign the topsoil. Then joins us for a gin and tonic. Bar-b-que ribs slaved over for two days by Rick complete our perfect three-day weekend.

Jenny and Rick made us a Chinese ginger chicken dinner. We sat at the kitchen island and ate some vegetable fried rice while they cooked. When the chicken was poured out of the wok onto its nest of noodles the rest of us were right by the stove with our plates held out. Fresh and yummy.
Our beverage of choice tonight was fizzy water. We were trying the new carbonating device Jenny purchased to reduce our seltzer budget. Some like 5 buzzes of carbonation. I am leaning toward 3 buzzes. Charlie likes it with 0 buzzes. Charlie's a still water man.

Charlie: "This is a very non-traditional fish chowder. No cod, no clam broth."
Brenda: "The tradition is what's fresh at the market, these beautiful bass were what was fresh!")
